(CNN)Another week, another time when the world feels like it’s on fire.
I have nothing funny or clever to say. When it all feels like too much, don’t feel guilty if you withdraw a little into TV, movies, music, books, or whatever makes you happy.
Because these days, taking care of yourself feels like an act of revolution.
Three things to see
‘The tourist’
Jamie Dornan has done a great job over the past few years.
Whether as a sexy serial killer in the series “The Fall” or in the role of “Pa” in the Oscar-nominated “Belfast,” he seems to pull it off every time.
In “The Tourist,” Dornan plays a man who awakens with no memory from a horrific car accident. And trying to find out who he is leads not only to some danger, but also to more questions.
The thriller is currently streaming on HBO Max, which is owned by CNN’s parent company.
“Worst Roommate Ever”
Netflix has definitely established itself as the sweet spot when it comes to true crime.
The newest are squatters, scammers, and murderers who, it turns out, don’t make good roommates at all.
If you thought that the person you lived with who was always late on the rent or eating your leftovers was a nightmare, think again.
The limited series is streaming now.
“West Side Story”
There’s still time to watch the Oscar-nominated films.
The West Side Story remake is streaming this week for those either interested in musicals or dying to see how this stacks up against the 1961 original.
The new film will be directed by Steven Spielberg and could make history if Ariana DeBose wins the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for not only being an openly queer Afro-Latina performer, but also Latina Rita Moreno (who also stars in the remake ) won this award for the same role in the original.
West Side Story is streaming on Disney+.
Two things to listen to
Kevin Hart and Charlamagne Tha God have teamed up with actress and activist Erika Alexander to raise awareness for missing black women and girls.
Alexander hosts a podcast, Finding Tamika, which covers the case of Tamika Huston, a 24-year-old black woman from Spartanburg, South Carolina, who went missing in 2004. Her case “became a rallying cry for other missing Black women in America and led to a growing demand to expose a system that ignores missing girls and women of color.”
The podcast is presented by Hart and Charlamagne Tha God’s SBH productions and is streamed on Audible.
Spotify has launched a “bookcast” linked to Dolly Parton and James Patterson’s “Run, Rose, Run.”
The country legend has teamed up with author Patterson for the novel about an aspiring artist who heads to Nashville to pursue a career in music.
The book show “will combine excerpts from their co-authored novel with the original soundtrack written, produced and recorded by Parton,” according to a Spotify press release.
The episodes are already out, the last episodes will be released on March 7th.
One thing to talk about
Rihanna is a pregnancy goal even if you don’t plan on having a baby.
She and boyfriend/baby daddy rapper A$AP Rocky have been breaking news since their IPO in January that they are expecting a child together.
No wonder Rihanna, who is a fashion mogul, has been photographed everywhere in gorgeous outfits that show off her baby bump to the fullest.
Her husband told Extra TV that he’s “never seen a woman look so beautifully pregnant” – and who can disagree?
Cheers to one of the already best-dressed celebrity babies of all time.
Something to swallow
It feels like the world has rallied around Ukraine in the face of Russia’s invasion.
This also includes the creative community.
From attendees at the recent Screen Actors Guild Awards in California to the artists who canceled their concerts in Russia, the message was loud and clear: support for the country besieged by Russian forces, which is claiming lives and destruction.
As heartbreaking footage and images continue to pour out of Ukraine, any sanctions or support actions seem like the least the rest of us can do.
