EastEnders delivered a rare happy ending tonight (March 17) as Keegan Butcher-Baker (Zack Morris) left Walford to start a new life with ex-wife Tiffany (Maisie Smith).
Tiff was called home by step-sister Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) in Keegan’s Downward Spiral, triggered by the discovery that the evil Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) had abused and killed Keegan’s sister Chantelle (Jessica Plummer) has.
During his emotional last week on screen, viewers saw a devastated Keegan with guilt and self-hatred over the fact that he had never seen Gray, especially since Kheerat Panesar (Jaz Singh Deol) had his suspicions all along .
When Keegan remembers worshiping Gray, who even financed his business, he flew into a rage and burned his food weapons. His family was shocked and as the evening began the episode, Keegan faced criminal charges.
That was until Tiffany arrived and promptly saved the day by giving him an alibi, claiming that Keegan had been with her all night and had not set the vehicle on fire.
Tiff’s detective uncle Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) was spoiled, knew full well that she was lying. But he agreed to leave the thing, clearly bound by his hearts for his great-niece as he told her she would definitely be her mom Bianca Jackson’s (Patsy Palmer) daughter!
When they were reunited, Keegan opened up to Tiffany about his grief for Chantelle and anger against Gray. She offered him comfort, but when the discussion turned to her failed marriage, things turned around and she told Whitney that she was going back to Germany that day.
Whitney asked her to speak to Keegan, and as she did so, the truth about the missing letter to her ex-husband was revealed.
When they realized that their brother Liam Butcher (Alfie Deegan) had sabotaged their chance to reunite last December, Keegan was surprised to learn that Tiffany had just left because he did not respond to her heartfelt note.
But before they delved deeper into the situation, Tiffany pulled Keegan into a kiss. Shortly afterwards, Keegan told his mother Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) and father Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) that he had moved to Germany with Tiff.
Keegan and Tiffany finally got the blessing of their mother, Keegan and Tiffany checked out Albert Square one last time as they started together for a fresh start.
No, you’re crying!
