In 2013, Lego had one Back to the future Time Machine Kit. It was one of the first products to emerge from what is now known as Lego Ideas, a project that allows tile-skilled creators from around the world to submit their ideas for public approval and potential production. (And yes, the designer gets a cut.) This set has long since sold out, and the sale on the secondary market goes for many times its original $ 34.99 price.
For those who missed it, there is now a way to get a Lego BTTF DeLorean-no time machine required. On April 1st, the Danish toy will release a new one BTTF Time Machine Kit. And it’s much more impressive than the 2013 set, which contains 401 inches – the new model consists of 1,872 inches and measures 11.5 inches (35.5 cm) long, 7.5 inches (19 cm) wide, and 4 inches (11 cm) large.
Lego sets with almost 2,000 pieces in the a movie license does not come cheap though. The BTTF Time Machine Kit will set you back $ 169.99.
The set contains parts for creating one of the time machines of the three new ones BTTF Movies – The Original (sans Mr. Fusion), the floating DeLorean out BTTF 2 (complete with folding wheels), in the train-assisted time machine from the third film. If you want all three, you have to buy three kits. The set also comes with Doc Brown and Marty Minifigs, Marty’s hoverboard, various license plates, and even a banana and beer can.
Hardcore Lego nerds are perhaps most impressed with the windscreen, a brand new Lego brick. Windscreens can often be a low point for Lego cars, and the 2013 Time Machine has just left the area between the A-pillars into space.
