Planning your trip
- See entry requirements to find out what you have to do when you arrive in France and for details on the current requirements and restrictions in France
- You can travel to France 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa. Make sure your passport is less than 10 years old on the day of arrival (see ‘Exhibition date’) and valid for at least 3 months after the date you plan to leave (see ‘Expiry date’)
- Remember your UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) or European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). You should also take out travel insurance, even if you are only going for one night. It could save you a lot of money if you get into trouble
- carry your ID with you at all times
Go to the Stadium
From Lille city center (main underground stations: Rihour and station Lille Flandres) take the yellow M1 line in direction of 4 cantons Stade (Stade Mauroy) in Villeneuve d’Ascq.
There are parking spaces next to the stadium.
Small airports do not have direct flights to the UK. If you come from another country, there is a shuttle service to Lille city center. From the city center you can take the Underground (Metro) as explained above.
Am Stadion
- Tickets are given at a collection point upon presentation of your voucher and your passport. Details and specific instructions are provided by Chelsea Football Club for vouchers. Metro tickets will also be on sale at this collection point
- all official Chelsea supporters (except VIPs and sponsors) enter the stadium via Gate I
- Full body searches are being carried out by French police. The process will be thorough and time consuming
- the stadium opens 2 hours before the start. Get well before the start of the match as ticket and security checks can take up to a good hour before you enter the visiting section.
- there are no left luggage facilities. Leave your items on the coach or at your hotel.
- Alcohol is prohibited in the stadium
- if you appear drunk, you may be refused entry to the stadium
- Please note that Chelsea fans will be held back for a while while the home fans disperse
Tips
The following items are banned and confiscated at the stadium (and are unlikely to be returned):
- Banners and flags showing all that can be considered racist or homophobic
- flagpoles, sticks
- Freedefeier and Flares
- alcoholic beverages, bottles, glasses and cans
- Megaphones and Drums
- Knives, belts, chains or any objects that can be thrown or used as weapons
Smoking is not allowed on the stands.
The possession and use of recreational drugs is illegal in France and any violation can lead to arrest and imprisonment.
