Prime Minister Scott Morrison had earlier congratulated Mr Perrottet on the arrival of his seventh child, as had NSW Labor leader Chris Minns.
“I would like to congratulate NSW Prime Minister Dominic Perrottet and his wife Helen on the birth of their daughter Celeste. A beautiful little girl, a wonderful day for the Perrottet family and we send them our heartfelt wishes from the NSW opposition,” said Mr Remember.
After becoming prime minister last year, Mr Perrottet said juggling his work and family responsibilities would be as demanding as it was for any working parent.
“Ultimately, what I lose in time, I gain in perspective,” he said. “I have a strong family and I have a strong team of ministers who make sure our focus is on the people of NSW. Yes, I have family responsibilities, but that should not disqualify one from work.
He said he was committed to “being a family prime minister, focusing on how we can make life better for working families who live liberal values of opportunity, aspiration and hard work.”
Mr Perrottet, who has 11 siblings, liked to talk about growing up in a large family, and said he was well prepared for a life in politics.
