$ 100K bet on Kentucky to win the title

A BetMGM client has been heavily invested in the Kentucky Wildcats during March Madness.

BetMGM received a $ 100,000 bet on Kentucky to win the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Kentucky has +800 chances of winning everything, so the bet will win $ 800,000 if John Calipari and the Wildcats cut the nets in New Orleans in a few weeks.

Kentucky is the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Region, a region that also has Baylor, Purdue and UCLA. Despite not being on the No. 1 seed line, Kentucky has the third-best national championship chance at BetMGM. Only Gonzaga (+300) and Arizona (+600) have better chances than Kentucky.

Kentucky opens tournament against Saint Peter’s on Thursday night in Indianapolis. Kentucky is favored by 18.5 points and the total is listed at 131.5.

According to BetMGM, 63% of the bets and 65% of the money are in Kentucky to cover this spread. In addition, 62% of the bets and 73% of the money on the over.

The Wildcats are led by All-American Big Man Oscar Tshiebwe, who averages 17.0 points and 15.1 rebounds per game. UK also has a standout freshman guard at TyTy Washington and a collection of veteran transfers – Kellan Grady (Davidson), Sahvir Wheeler (Georgia) and Davion Mintz (Creighton). Tshiebwe is also a transfer. He began his career in West Virginia.

It’s a different group than the teams that brought Calipari to the tournament in recent years. Will this experience pay off in the form of a national championship?
