The campaign arm for House Democrats it raised $ 19.3 million in February, surpassing the committee’s personal record for the month by $ 2.3 million, according to numbers first shared with CBS News. That record comes when the Democratic Congress Campaign Committee faces intimidation midterm elections in November, with Republicans just a digit away from regaining control of the House.
Part of the DCCC’s $ 5 million in revenue comes from the Democratic National Committee as part of a $ 15 million commitment split equally between the DCCC and the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee. It also includes 250,000 individual grassroots donors who contributed $ 7 million, with the rest coming from top-level donors or membership fees.
The DCCC has slightly led fundraising with its National Republican Congress Committee counterparts in this cycle. The DCCC surpassed the NRCC by less than $ 300,000 in January, though House Democrats raised $ 6.3 million more than their GOP counterparts throughout 2021, according to a CBS News analysis.
House Democrats entered March with $ 99.2 million in cash in hand. House Republicans reported about $ 82 million in cash in hand since its January filing.

The NRCC had not yet reported its February numbers. During a Republican House political meeting on Wednesday, Congress leadership and other House House Republicans pledged $ 19.3 million to the NRCC this year. first reported by Punchbowl News.
In a statement on his numbers, DCCC President and MP Sean Patrick Maloney of New York said Democrats “are following an agenda that addresses the real issues facing Americans, while that Republicans continue to provoke division for political gain. “
“The people of the United States strongly reject the Republican extremist agenda for their families, and our voters are stepping up to protect our progress in Washington,” he said.
Earlier this month, at a Democratic House conference in Philadelphia, Maloney was confident that his most vulnerable members would have the funds to run for re-election, but said Republican foreign groups in the House have also been raising money well and can provide “significant resources”.
The Congressional Leadership Fund, an external group backed by the House Central GOP, raised $ 110 million in 2021, nearly double the amount of the Democratic House majority PAC that contributed $ 55 million.
“We take it very seriously,” Maloney said in Philadelphia, but noted that vulnerable “front-line” House Democrats have a $ 80 million cash advantage over their Republican rivals, who are currently trapped in the primaries.
“This is an amazing statistic that I don’t think anyone understands,” he said. “It’s not just that we have proven candidates in battle … it’s that they’re in a cash position because of their hard work. That, I think, is a function of the Republicans’ overconfidence.”
