The three Labor senators who allegedly bullied Kimberley Kitching rejected the demands jointly and confirmed that they would attend their funeral after discussions with their family.
Senator Kitching died last week of a suspected heart attack. She has complained in recent months to an external workplace coach that she is being bullied by colleagues.

Reports over the past week have claimed that this abuse includes hostile behavior by Senate Leadership Team Penny Wong, Kristina Keneally and Katy Gallagher.
The three Labor front benches issued a joint statement on Friday morning, saying they felt it was necessary to respond to the ongoing hurtful statements.
“Our priority at this time was Senator Kitching’s husband, Andrew, her family and her loved ones. Their grief is deep, their loss immeasurable,” she said.

“Out of respect for them, and for Senator Kitching, we did not respond to accusations that were made, even though they were not true.
“This was difficult, but we believed it would be the right thing to do to maintain a dignity for all concerned.”
