Rangers’ participation in the November Sydney Super Cup is in doubt, Sky Sports News learned.
According to reports in the Southern Hemisphere, it is understood concerns have been raised with tournament organizers on various topics, including the timing of the announcements.
The Ibrox side are set to face Celtic in the first Old Firm match to be played outside Scotland on November 20, but the prospect of that may be in doubt.
The Celtics, however, are understood to expect the tournament to continue as manager Ange Postecoglou returns to Australia after managing the Socceroos in the A-League.
The four-team event – which kicks off on November 16 during the break in home football for the World Cup – will also feature Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC.
Sky Sports News contacted Sydney Super Cup organizers for comment.

Ally McCoist thinks Ange Postecoglou is doing a great job at Celtic and the title race with his former club Rangers will go all the way
Just three points separate Scottish Premier Leader Celtic and champion Rangers with eight games to go in the league – a title race former Gers boss Ally McCoist thinks will go all the way.
Glasgow rivals meet at least twice in April as they face each other at the top of the Scottish Cup semi-finals.
McCoist said: “I have to say that Ange Postecoglou has done a wonderful job so far at Celtic.
“He did a great job there and kept up a great job, so we really had a title race here in Scotland for the first time in a while.
“Rangers left last year and Celtic were dominant in previous years.
“If there is such a thing as a neutral [fan] in Scotland, and I do not think there are many, they will enjoy the season and I think it will go all the way to the wire.
