Priscilla Presley visits Australia to open the Elvis Presley Exhibition in Bendigo – and says the King regrets never coming Down Under

Priscilla Presley arrived in Australia for a very sentimental reason.
The American actress has visited the Bendigo Art Gallery in Victoria to open the new Elvis Presley exhibition, Elvis: Direct from Graceland.
The 76-year-old shared her thoughts on what her ex-husband, who died in 1977 at the age of 42, thought of Australia, something he had never visited.

“Elvis once thought he would be forgotten. He did not go to all the places he wanted to go, and Australia was one of them,” she said in a video shared by ABC Central Victoria.
‘So it will be exciting for you all to share his life and the things he has done, the clothes he wears, especially his jumpsuits.’
Drawing on her thoughts about the town of Bendigo, Priscilla said: ‘I like it here. This is so beautiful and unusual. This is a city I’m in love with. It’s really, really sweet. ‘
“Elvis once thought he would be forgotten. He did not get to visit all the places he wanted to go, and Australia was one of them,” she said.
The star brought some of Elvis’ stuff from his home Graceland to Memphis, Tennessee, Australia for the show.
There are 300 authentic artifacts and personal items on display at Elvis’s possession, including his 1976 Red Harley Davidson, military uniforms and jumpsuits.
The show opens on March 19th and runs until July 17th, with tickets sold out soon.

Priscilla married Elvis in 1967, divorced later in 1973 when she was 27 – and just four years before his death.
Elvis died in 1977 of a heart attack, leaving his daughter Lisa Marie Presley, now 54.
In an interview with People, Priscilla also reflected on her marriage to Elvis, saying: ‘I loved Elvis very much. I loved caring for him.
‘I like to feed him. We would talk baby because you have to have your own language when you have so many people around. It was a good life. It was different, but it was us. ‘
