Sam Walker, Luke Keary star as Sydne Roosters produce “perfect” first half, thump Manly Sea Eagles

They were two of the chickens their best.

James Tedesco had a quiet start to the season, and Connor Watson was not at his best either. The couple both had a try in their name at the break.

Robinson gave his side a clear rocket after Newcastle lost, but he also played some ducks and Drakes with his side.

“The things we talked about during the week we immediately improved. That’s a really enjoyable six-day turnaround,” Robinson said.

“You don’t always get to practice what you want to do, but the discussions were strong.

“Defensive pressure improves, and combinations, and communication between the spine improves. That’s where we got the result.”

Hutchison started in place of Watson on the hooker, Paul Momirovski started on the left center, Billy Smith moved on the right wing.

The two back riders – Angus Crichton and Sitili Tupouniua – also changed sides.

Whether it was the Wednesday Rocket or the surprise tactics, there was no bad start six days after they were never hot against Newcastle.

In the second minute, Walker stepped on Haumole Olakau’atu, slapped Sean Keppie, dropped on Hutchison and cheered the SCG members on.

Six minutes after Hutchison surprised, Tedesco struck. He cut Manly’s left wing and found Daniel Tupou at the end of the left wing.

Tupou finished, as he always does.

It felt as if the Tricolore camp had been set up in the middle of Manly, heading towards Victor Trumper stand and Clive Churchill stand for the next 15 minutes.

Hasler’s page barely hangs.

Fingernails were on Cliff’s face when Watson got into a fight, and he put Nat Butcher at close range.

With 16-0 and 16 minutes left in the first half, it was clear.

This was the level of football pundits expected of the Roosters as they tipped to win the Premiership before the start of the season.

Phil Gould summed it up best in the comments box.

“Where was that last week of the Roosters?” Gould asked.

“It’s a dazzling start, and more characteristic of the football they produce.

It’s clinical, it’s fast. We did not see any of that last week. “

Frenetic football exhausted Manly with 10 minutes left in the first half.

If they cling to any hope of winning the match, that hope has faded as Keary brought Tupouniua through a huge hole to stretch the lead to 22-0 at the break.

“Perfect football,” Gould said.

Manly caught her breath in the famous SCG change room at the break as she looked a far better side as the game resumed.

The roosters worked for them, but Karl Lawton eventually played from close range with 25 minutes.

At 22-6, it was enough time to mount a comeback.

But Manly’s heads went down uniformly as Keary combined again with Butcher to play his second with just under 12 minutes.

The only worries for Robinson were a shoulder injury for Watson, a head injury on Tupouniua – which failed a second-half head injury rating – and Victor Radley was put on report for a high tackle.
