Woman dies at hospital after ‘suspicious’ house fire in north-west Melbourne

“All parties involved in the incident were known to each other and the fire is being treated as suspicious,” she said.

No charges were filed in connection with the fire.

Neighbors of Sutherland Street said at home Nine news they heard what sounded like a bomb before the flames engulfed the front room of the house.

A resident who was only identified as Kylie said her husband heard a “big pop” and saw a teenage girl, with burns running on her legs on the street.

“When I saw her, her shorts were burned. Her legs were burned. Her hands were burned,” she said.

More than 25 firefighters battled the blaze, which lasted about half an hour to get under control.
