Tottenham striker Dejan Kulusevski admitted he found life at Juventus “very frustrating” due to his lack of playing time.
Sweden International signed for Bianconeri in the middle of the 2019/20 season, joining the squad in Turin at the end of this campaign.
But after appearing as one of the brightest talents of Serie A with Parma, Kulusevski found it difficult to make a similar impression at Juve, starting 24 times in the league during his season and a half at the Alliance Stadium.
Talk to The GuardianKulusevski revealed how difficult it was to have his role limited.
“It was hard. You have to be really strong when things don’t go the way you think they should and there are things you can not control. It’s very frustrating when you like something and you can not show it. I knew I needed a change, “he said.
Since joining the Spurs with a first loan deal at the end of the January transfer window, Kulusevski has quickly become a fan favorite in north London. He scored two goals and four assists in eight Premier League games on the right, although he played briefly as number 10 and on the back.
And the 21-year-old said he enjoys working under Antonio Conte but did not want to strike a favorite position on the field.
“It is especially the coach and the staff that help me a lot, make me mistakes and be me, let me play without pressure. If you are good in your head, you usually play good football,” he added.
“It’s hard to say about my best position, because football is evolving and I’m a guy who can not stand still and I want to move into big, big space. The coach has helped me a lot because I can really find my place now. I liked where I played and every game I had a chance to score.
