Robert Hagg was traded to the Florida Panthers by the Buffalo Sabers on Sunday.
The Sabers got a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NHL draft.
Hagg is in the final season of a two-year, $ 3.2 million contract ($ 1.6 million average annual value) he signed with the Philadelphia Flyers on September 28, 2020. The 27-year-old defender has scored eight points (one goal, seven) Assists) in 48 games this season.

Hagg was bought by the Sabers in a trade with the Flyers on July 23, 2021. Philadelphia’s second-round pick (No. 41) in the 2013 NHL draft, Hagg scored 55 points (14 goals, 41 assists) and scored 284. regular season games for the Sabers and Flyers. He has three assists and 14 Stanley Cup playoff games.
The trade Sunday was made on the same day the Panthers announced defenders Aaron Ekblad is out week after week with a lower body injury he suffered in a 3-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.
Florida got Defenders Ben Chiarot in a trade with the Montreal Canadiens for a first-round pick in the 2023 NHL draft, a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NHL draft, and forward prospect Ty Smilanic on Wednesday.
The Panthers also picked up forwards Claude Giroux in a trade with the Flyers on Saturday for striker Owen Tippett, a pick from the first round in the 2024 NHL draft or 2025 NHL draft, and a third round in the 2023 NHL draft. Florida also got forward prospects Connor Bunnaman and German Rubtsov, in a fifth-round pick in the 2024 draft.
