Felix Rosenqvist will start from the pole for the IndyCar race at Texas Motor Speedway, and he has chosen his good handling car as the reason for his performance.
Rosenqvist’s Arrow McLaren SP team beat the setup before they even got on the track, and the team had to make almost no changes all day.
The well-manipulated car gave him a lot of confidence for the weekend, and the Swede thinks he will perform even better in Sunday’s race.
“I think we will be even stronger in the race,” Rosenqvist said after qualifying. “I mean, I can not promise that, but we have every reason to think we have a good package overall, and I think the power in our car here is very trust-inspiring.
“It never feels really edgy. It’s just really good setup, so, yeah, we’re happy to go to the race.
“I remember the first time I came here. Then it was definitely not fun. I was really scared the first time I was here, and it was actually the first superspeedway I ever did.
“But, I think, from 2020 onwards, it’s a track where I feel really calm and confident, and I know how to attack the race and how to work with the finish line and how the car needs to be set up, and I think it suits me very well.
“Yeah, I definitely feel like I have some unlocked business in Texas.”
Rosenqvist starts Sunday from the inside out of the front row, trying to keep Scott McLaughlin on the outside lane to keep the lead in the first round.
XPEL 375 airs Sunday at 12:30 pm Eastern Time and will be broadcast live on NBC in the US and on Sky Sports in the UK.
