NHL Rumors: Carolina Hurricanes, Jake DeBrusk, Zdeno Chara, and Max Domi

The hurricanes will not move one first

Pierre LeBrun: The Carolina Hurricanes have told teams that they will not exchange their 2023 First Round pick on a rental player. They have no 2022 first from the Jesperi Kotkaniemi offer sheet.

DeBrusk still wants out

Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic: Boston Bruins striker Jake DeBrusk still wants out of Boston after his agent Rick Valette.

“His trade demand stands, and I hope he’s moved by the deadline.”

But that does not mean it will happen. The Bruins are making a run and they do not want to risk a cup run just to receive his request.

A Chara return is unlikely for the Bruins

Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic: Could Zdeno Chara return to the Boston Bruins? Unlikely.

“He’s slow, yeah,” an NHL source noted. “But his achievement on the PK would be enormous. He adds toughness that they lack. And would be a great moral addition, not that they need it, but a trade deadline boost. Islands are out and need to get younger.

Another source said they were not interested in another, adding that Calvin de Haan fits in better.

Domi is expected to be moved by Monday

David Pagnotta: (Friday) There have been no recent contract negotiations between the Columbus Blue Jackets and UFA striker Max Domi.

They are said to be expecting the domi to be traded on Monday by the deadline.

David Pagnotta: Both sides have spoken before in the season, but that of course did not lead to anything.

Sportsnet: Jeff Marek on 32 Thoughts on Max Domi.

“Ah, yes. That’s a name to look at even on a Monday. He’s at the end of his contract. We believe the Washington Capitals are very interested. Maybe Colorado and Boston. But Washington would have a problem with his salary cap. Third party need or maybe Columbus need to keep.
