Fame may be ephemeral on social media, but Wordle and BTS have clearly beaten this trend. Now, after the amalgamation of both worlds – BTS Wordle – fans are hooked on a new game called BTS Heardle.
Taking inspiration for the once-a-day word game that asks players to guess the word of the day in six attempts, Heardle is about guessing a song from the Septet and seven attempts. Created by fans who manage a fan account @BTSChartData, an account that normally collects data from the South Korean band, it tests the fans’ love for the group’s songs.
Unlike their first game BTS Wordle, also created by them, this new game offers hints for every guess. Known for its terrific and inspiring lyrics, the game tests fans’ knowledge about the same thing. The website displays both original Korean texts and English translations. Even though most of the BTS songs are in Korean, the language will not hinder the connection between the fans and artists, thanks to the bilingual fan volunteers who have been translating the lyrics of the group since their early days.
This newly created game from fans for the fandom collectively known as ARMY asks players to guess the song of a band in seven attempts.
For the lyrical hints used in the new game, @BTSChartData has partnered with a trusted translation fan account, @DoolSetBangtan.
“After the first guess, you can start listening to the snippet,” reads the rule on the free website created for BTS Fandom ARMY. “Jumped or wrong attempts block more of the snippets,” read the rules as it played more of the song of the day. If the games are successful, the right song will be played along with the Spotify link of that song with a spoiler-free sharing option, which will allow fans to brag about it online.
The Korean band consists of RM, Jin, SugaJ-Hoffnung, Jimin, V an Jungkook is arguably the biggest boy band in the world, rising in popularity every day. And it’s not uncommon to see them dominate on social media platforms, especially Twitter every day. Now, the fandom can not stop gaga from going about the new game, especially those who managed it in their first attempt, “BTS Heardle” dominated trends worldwide.
While most could not stop sharing their joy at guessing the song in a way, proving their status as “true purple blood”, an angle on the color of the fandom, others liked the messages displayed on the website has, referring to the band’s many amusing trivia.
