CtrlS to set up its third & largest data center in Hyderabad | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: City-based data center player CtrlS is setting up its third and largest hyperscale data center to date in Hyderabad. To distribute over 1.31 lakh square feet, the proposed rated-4 (Tier-4) data center will be equipped with 1,600 racks and powered by 18MW of power, CtrlS said on Monday.
The new data center, for which the base ceremony took place on Monday, will be located in the financial district in the vicinity of ICICI Regional Center, Microsoft, Capgemini, Amazon, among others, and is planned for over the next 12 months or so.
CtrlS ‘first data center in Hyderabad, Madhapur, is spread over 65,800 sq ft, has 1,400 racks and a capacity of 10MW, while the second is spread over 68,000 sq ft in Gachibowli, has 800 racks and a capacity of 10MW.
Recognizing that Hyderabad has emerged as a preferred destination for disaster recovery services as it falls under Seismic Zone II, CtrlS founder & CEO Sridhar Pinnapureddy said the city offers high quality infrastructure, robust power connection and a large pool of qualified IT industry resources with Telangana Data center policies are another big draw.
He said the new data center strengthens the ability of multinational companies and Indian businesses to expand in Hyderabad to create their collocation or disaster recovery needs as well as new jobs.
“New data center will be environmentally friendly with rain harvesting, water conservation and recycling capabilities, e-waste management and paper and plastic elimination,” he added. CtrlS, which operates 1 million sq ft of data center space across seven centers in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Noida and Bengaluru, plans to expand around five million sq ft across the country.
