Leyton Orient completed their longest run without an away win since 1997 after a strong 3-0 triumph at Harrogate.
The O’s have not prevailed in one of their previous 14 league games on the road since mid-September, but top scorer Aaron Drinan has grabbed a clasp – his first goal since December to bring his season to 15 – and Ruel Sotiriou has d ‘Things completed.
Earlier, Theo Archibald had come closest to a goal in the first half when he knocked home base keeper Mark Oxley’s left hand upright from eight yards out.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 51st minute when Harrogate defender Rory McArdle’s save hit teammate Alex Pattison, freed Drinan through the right channel and drove him to Oxley’s nearest post from 12 yards out after ineffective defense. by Warren Burrell.
Drinan grabbed his second of the game six minutes later with a deflected eight-yard effort after Omar Beckles headed in Shadrach Ogie’s long-range goal from the left.
At the other end, Jack Diamond hit the outside of Lawrence Vigouroux’s nearest post – but the result was beyond doubt after a worse defense by the men.
That was far too lenient! The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he’s claiming it! McArdle had to make a substitution after 73 minutes.
Harrogate Sub Simon Power then struck the cross, but Harry Smith might have rubbed salt into the home wounds as he struck a pot in stoppage time.
