Controversial US Primetime host Tucker Carlson is under fire for pushing a pro-Putin agenda
Tucker Carlson has long since taken over the self-proclaimed title “Tucker The Untouchable”.
The popular presenter remains the biggest draw at Fox News. However, there are suggestions that he supports the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Despite ongoing concerns about disinformation on the Carlson platform, no action was taken by Fox News executives to inform him.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also praised Fox News for its coverage of the war in Ukraine.
Lavrov says Fox News is the only network in the United States “try to present some alternative points of view”.
In a series of shows just days ago, Carlson dedicated segments to the Moscow propaganda claims that there are American biological war laboratories in Ukraine.
U.S. officials say the labs are Ukrainian and part of a sequence called Biological Threat Reduction Program that has received some U.S. support.
The White House warns that this misinformation could be used by Putin to stage a chemical or biological attack.
Meanwhile, Russian television people are also praising it “Tucker the Untouchable”.
The co-host of the Russian 60 Minutes program says “Our acquaintance, Tucker Carlson, obviously has his own interests – but lately they’re increasingly in line with our own.”
Carlson’s continuing question of the war in Ukraine and his leaning towards Russia has raised widespread concerns. These are allegations that Carlson has firmly denied.
It comes just days after his own colleagues were killed in the war, as a result of Russian aggression.
Fox News cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski and journalist Oleksandra Kuvshynova have died after their vehicle was struck near the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. Another Fox News reporter, Benjamin Hall, was also injured in the attack.
