The Raiders continue to deepen their defense this week and this time it’s on the defensive line.
According to NFL media Mike Garafolo, the Raiders signed the first-round pick of the first round Vernon Butler to a one-year contract.
Butler last played for the Buffalo Bills, appearing in 10 games in the 2021 season. Despite the first round, Butler started just 19 games in his career. Anyway, he’s a giant run-stop defensive tackle and that was a need of the Raiders in the offseason.
Butler is only 27 years old and has a wealth of experience. While he could be one of the team’s starting defenders, he’ll still be up for a big roster contest with Andrew Billings and Kendal Vickers.
