“I’m going to jail before I pay a penny,” Daniels said in one tweet after a federal appeals court upheld the decision she ordered to pay Trump $ 300,000 in legal fees following her failed defamation case.

Trump called the decision a “complete victory and glorification” in a statement Monday. Daniels claims she had sex with Trump in 2006, and says his lawyer paid her to remain calm about it before the 2016 election.

Daniels sued Trump in 2018 for a tweet in which he mocked her claim that a man threatened her in 2011 over her accusations of having sex with Trump. He called a sketch of the man a “con job”.

A federal judge dismissed the case that year, also ordered Daniels to pay Trump’s legal costs, and the Supreme Court denied a request to review the case. Daniels then appealed the bill to the 9th Circuit.

In response to the decision, Trump issued a statement “As I have said several times over the years, I have never had an affair with Stormy Daniels, and I never would have wished. The verdict was a total and complete victory and rights for, and for me.”

The amount that Daniels now owes Trump is the same as the amount that her former lawyer, Michael Avenatti, was convicted of stealing from her.

Avenatti was found pleaded guilty to restricted identity theft and wire fraud earlier this year in connection with stealing $ 300,000 from Daniels in advance for her tell-all book about her alleged affair with the former president.

Daniels has said it before held more anger Towards Avenatti as against the former president.

“I’ve only met Trump a few times, not once. I did not see him as a friend,” Daniels said.

“Michael Avenatti betrayed my trust in every way possible. He lied to my face. He lied about me. He put me on a stand for five and a half hours and called me names,” she said.
