The 28-year-old man had to retire and miss his country’s clash with Chile and Bolivia

However, Tite’s side will be without Manchester City stopper Ederson now, who is feeling unwell.

The 28-year-old was replaced in the 25-man squad by Everson from Atletico Mineiro.

Ederson’s disappointment means Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker will compete with Palmeiras Weverton and Everson for the No. 1 jersey with the national setup.

With Manchester City not back in action until April 2, when they face Burnley in the Premier League, Ederson has little time to recover.

Brazil has already qualified for this year’s Qatar finals, which will be held in November-December
