First announced in March 2021, the EA Sports PGA Tour release date was originally set for a spring 2022 release. As we come to this release window, Electronic Arts has decided that it is time to make a decision to delay the release of the game. EA, however, did not provide any specific reason or explanation for the delay in the game. EA Sports PGA Tour remains no officially announced platforms.

EA Sports PGA Tour aims to enhance the realism of the game, with all four major tournaments in golf – the Masters, US Open, British Open, and the PGA Championship. The spring 2023 release window of the game falls right before the launch of Masters 2023, which would be a great time to release the game for golf fans. In addition to these four, the PGA Tour will also receive the FedExCup Playoffs as part of its available circuits.

In addition, the PGA Tour will partner with the Ladies’ Professional Golfers Association, or LPGA, to showcase EA Sports Ladies golfers and their championships in the game. This will be the first time that the LPGA Tour will be featured in such a detailed video game, a landmark for PGA Tour. This includes the Amundi Evian Championship, one of the five LPGA championships, and the expanded playlist includes 2019 Amundi Evian champion Jin Young Ko, and, presumably, 2021 champion Minjee Lee.

As already mentioned, PGA Tour currently only has a spring 2023 release date, but we currently have no idea where the game will be released. PS5 and Xbox Series X will most likely be some of the platforms, as EA talked about how PGA Tour will be a true next-gen gaming experience for consoles – but whether the game will also be released on PS4, Xbox One or not, Stages, and the Nintendo Switch is currently in the air.
