Popular Mexican restaurant starts at fire, crews cut roof

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – Crews ran into a fire at the Paradiso Mexican restaurant just before 13th Ave. S. to Fargo.

The call came on Wednesday, March 23rd at around 3pm in the restaurant in block 800 of 38th St.

Our reporter at the scene says they heard firefighters sounding like chainsaws on the building as the crews went to the roof.

Firefighters say the smoke was seen from where the wall meets the roof line. Initial reports also show that flames were seen from the attic.

Firefighters pulled hose lines from their truck and were able to extinguish the fire after being forced into the building and opening an exterior wall into part of the roof.

Crews searched the building and confirmed that no one was inside.

The building is now estimated at $ 150,000 in severe steam and water damage.

No one was injured in the fire or fighting. The cause is unknown at this time.
