Coronation Street viewers were shocked when a showdown between Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) and his ex Lydia ended in violence after she accidentally pushed him from a balcony.

Tonight, Lydia saw the music again, visiting Adam at his bedside – and Rebecca Ryan told us she’s glad her character gets Adam’s recognition that he treated her horribly – even though their revenge has gone far too far.

Metro.co.uk captured the actress and she reflected on the fact that Lydia is able to visit the show again as there is much more to learn.

She realized: ‘I think now we have that salvation, people have seen that she’s not just this crazy woman who’s just doing it for no reason, it would be good to discover it a little bit more. And the way she really is as a person, I would love to do that! ‘

While some fans may not agree that Lydia was a bit justified, Rebecca argues that her motives were genuine.

We’ve seen Adam turn on her gas lighting, make her feel like she’s doing everything, but Rebecca is relieved that the story was not just black and white, commenting that her initial friendship with Sarah (Tina O ‘Brien) was very real.

‘For an actor, it’s great to put yourself in her shoes and determine the reason why they do it; You do not agree with that, but you can understand the length she has gone, ” explains the Shameless and Casualty star.

“You understand a little bit what she went through and why she’s doing the things that she’s doing, so it was important to have that liberating part in there.”

In fact, the actress thinks that if Adam had just held his hands up and closed them, nothing would have happened.

So is the real blow that he completely forgot about their existence?

Rebecca agreed and said, ‘I think that was it, yes! All she wanted was recognition and to apologize to him; that would have been it, she would have accepted it.

“It was a knife in the back when he did not remember what happened – this changed the course of her life, the abortion and Adam changed everything for her.

“For him not to clock it, it was the turning point – all he had to do was acknowledge what he had done, she would have taken it over.

‘But he did not do it and it was’ Wow ‘.’

While Lydia had a less than fun time on the cobbles, Rebecca loved every moment, so she certainly would not give back.

She admired her experience: ‘I really had the best time. When you find out you have a job on Coronation Street, it’s scary. It’s an iconic show, it’s not just any show especially when you come from Manchester.

“I do not tend to be very nervous when I do things and act, but I was so nervous in my first week. This is Coronation Street, it’s a big deal. But the crew and crew made me comfortable and made me instantly comfortable. done, they are amazing and it was such a wonderful experience. ‘

And not even fans believe she was the character she played to dampen the experience on the show.

She laughed: ‘I have a lot of hatred especially in the beginning! Some people think we are not the same person! Honestly, it’s not me, I’m actually very cute!

“At the same time, you have to think it’s cool that people are so involved with the storyline, so it’s great that way.

‘I have a lot of really nice and supportive messages too so I can not complain too much.
