The Florida Department of Education rejects less than half of all math textbooks submitted for inclusion in the next school year curriculum, CBS Miami reports.
Reasons for rejecting books include references to “critical race theory” and common core inclusions.
The department found that 41 percent of books submitted violated its standards. This is the highest in the history of the state.
Books submitted for grades K through 5th had the highest number of rejections, at 71 percent.
According to a departmental press release entitled “Florida rejects editors’ attempts to indoctrinate students,” officials “initially did not include 54 of the 132” textbooks submitted.
