Two senior US officials will travel to Kyiv on Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told a news conference on Saturday.
Zelenskyy, who answered questions from Ukrainian and international media for more than an hour on Saturday, said he would hold talks with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin while traveling to the Ukrainian capital. .
The White House declined to comment Saturday.
It will be the first official visit by US government officials since Russia began invading Ukraine on February 24. The Russian invasion enters its third month on Sunday.
Zelensky has for weeks urged Western allies to send more weapons to Ukraine to counter the Russian invasion.
