Parents call for safety changes at ‘dangerous’ intersection used by children on their way to school.
Activists said confusing speed limit signs are causing motorists to speed on the slip road that joins the eastbound A494 in Ewloe, Flintshire.
Emma Jones said she had to take her secondary school-aged daughter to school every morning to make sure she was safe.
A Welsh Government spokesman said improvements will be made this financial year.
Ms. Jones started the safety improvement campaign eight years ago.
She said: “It’s so dangerous and crowded between 8am and 9am so I feel like I have to take her to school with a friend because it’s so crowded.”

Ms Jones said she had contacted a number of politicians, the council and the Wales Trunk Road Agency on the matter.
In recent weeks, she said, her fears were heightened after a vehicle entering the driveway crashed into safety barriers where pedestrians stand while waiting to cross the driveway.
“When that barrier was removed three weeks ago I just thought I have to do something, so I joined BBC Wales.”
Ms Jones said vehicles should be traveling at 30mph when entering the driveway, but signs near where pedestrians are crossing indicate the speed limit on the A494 ahead is 50mph , causing many drivers to accelerate before entering the driveway.
She added that hundreds of children living in Ewloe have to cross this stretch of road to and from school.
“There have been near misses,” said Ms Jones, who worries that children are often distracted crossing the street.
Concerns about road safety are shared by twin sisters Trish Eliott and Pauline Hickman, who have lived in the area for 50 years.
“I wouldn’t cross it – we wouldn’t cross it – no way,” Ms Eliott said.
“I don’t know why a child wasn’t killed.
Ms Hickman said: “It’s awful, it’s a blind corner and they shoot up here.”
Like Emma Jones, they fear an accident will occur before anything is done to improve the situation.
Ms Jones said a nearby junction along the A494 in Queensferry has raised walkways and traffic lights.
She said similar measures would allow pedestrians to safely cross the road at Ewloe Junction.
The road is the responsibility of the North and Mid Wales Trunk Road Agent on behalf of the Welsh Government.
In a statement, a Welsh Government spokesman said: “We are developing a program to address walking and cycling activity at this site during this financial year.”
