Coronation Street has confirmed Adam Barlow’s fate on the ITV soap, resulting in an exit on screen for his ex and stalker Lydia Chambers on Wednesday night.
Corrie fans saw the direct outburst to Adam, who was pushed by Lydia from a balcony during a heated showdown, where her past was finally explained.
Lydia had teased him about his treatment years ago and Adam was currently feeling guilty – but when he told her to tell Sarah the truth, Lydia became more angry than ever.
She admitted that he cheated on her all the way through her romance, and when she herself became pregnant with his baby, he told her to make an abortion, which she did in secret.
Just as things seemed to calm down, his plea for her to tell Sarah the truth led Lydia to push him, and he fell over the balcony.
The episode of Wednesday night finally taught Adam’s family how he was doing, after a number of tests by doctors after the fall.
They confirmed that he seemed to be OK, but that they discovered a blood clot behind his eye – after Adam confirmed that he had a blurred vision.
Adam was taken down for surgery and when he was brought back to the section, he clearly had pain.
That said, the doctors confirmed that Adam was OK and his eyesight was also good while they wanted to keep him for observation.
The episode saw the end of the storyline, Lydia and Adam made their peace and she left forever.
Sarah, Adam’s wife, told the police what she had done, and about all her lies that led to her being arrested.
But attorney Adam left the hospital to help her, demanding to speak to officers – claiming he fell from the balcony and that she did not push him.
He refused to press charges against her for anything that happened, meaning she was free to go.
As she was leaving the station, she thanked Adam for what he had done before asking if they would call a ceasefire.
Adam agreed, with Lydia telling him, “Good luck with everything,” as she left and left Weatherfield forever.
The soap recently confirmed that the end of the storyline would be aired this month, and would lead to Lydia leaving the show.
