An 18-year-old plumber shared her top tips for new apprentices on how to make sure it’s a success.
Sophie Maguire, from Norwich, said she “seized an opportunity” to learn something practical and applied for more than 50 apprenticeships – paid programs that combine practical training in a job with a degree.
She started as a plumber’s apprentice two years ago after graduating from high school.
Ms Maguire, who says she was faced with some “terrible comments” after documenting her journey on social media, said the key for new trainees is “to be positive even on the tough days”.
