Union Berlin striker Taiwo Awoniyi is hoping to score his first goal against leaders Bayern Munich when both sides clash in a German Bundesliga match-up on Saturday at the Allianz Arena.
The capital hopes Bayern will take advantage of their weak form in the league in their last two games when they face off on Saturday.
Bayern struggled recently, being held 1-1 by Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim in their last two outings.
It is Awoniyi’s third game against the German giants in the Bundesliga and he has yet to win his side after drawing 1-1 at the Allianz Arena in April 2021 and then 5-2 at the stadium An der Alten Försterei in October lost.
The Union is currently eighth in the logbook and a victory will further help them achieve their dreams of playing in Europe next season. The club will also bank on Awoniyi, who has scored twice in the last three league games.
Awoniyi’s compatriot Anthony Utah is hoping to make his third league appearance against Bayern after returning from a knee injury.
He also hopes to get his name on the scoreboard for the first time since June 27, 2020.
