European football nights should continue for Zimbabwe International Tino Kadewere after his French Ligue 1 football team Olympique Lyon advanced to the Europa League quarter-finals last night.

Kadewere played the last 25 minutes as Lyon held on to 1-1 by visiting Portuguese side Porto.

The French side still managed to win the fascinating tie 2-1 overall and reach the Europa League quarter-finals for the third time.

They doubled their aggregate advantage 13 minutes as Moussa Dembele hit the offside trap to slip the opening last night.

Porto equalized last night with a beautiful volley from Pepe – a first goal in the UEFA club competition for the Brazilians.

Kadewere, who made five appearances in competition this season, was introduced in the 65th minute, replacing goalkeeper Dembele.

The Zimbabwean is still set to open his European account after showing a total of 198 minutes since his European debut against Danish side Brondby IF in September last year.

Lyon have joined the giants Barcelona in the last eight along with RB Leipzig, Rangers, Sporting Braga, Atalanta, West Ham and Eintracht Frankfurt. The quarterfinals will take place this Friday afternoon.
