FRENKIE DE JONG has dismissed rumors of a possible transfer to Bayern Munich this summer by promising his long-term future in Barcelona.
Bayern were one of several parties, including Chelsea and Manchester United, interested in the Dutch midfielder, who was recently linked with a move by the Spanish club, which he joined for £ 65 million in 2019.

However, in a bitter blow to the Bavarian behemoths, the 24-year-old has revealed that he would like to extend his contract with Barça for another. SECH YEARS.
If Blaugrana decides to give De Jong what he wants, it means he will stay at the club until he is 34 because his current deal expires in 2026.
There have been rumors that De Jong could be one of the first heads on the cut last season as he struggled to find his form under ex-boss Ronald Koeman.
But the Dutch midfielder played a key role in Barça’s recovery from this campaign under new manager Xavi and helped the club advance to the Europa League quarter-finals after defeating Galatasaray on Wednesday night.

He said: “I would love to be at Barcelona! I would probably sign a six-year contract extension if they offer me, yes.”
“Something happening with FC Bayern? No, no .. I’m so happy in Barcelona and I would like to play here for as long as possible.”
But the boy may have to be willing to reduce his hefty £ 534,000 weekly salary if he wants to stay at Barça, who are still recovering from their financial difficulties.
