Young Thug’s mother shot and killed over bowling ball

LaKevia Jackson, who shared a teenage boy with rapper Young Thug, was shot and killed in the evening of March 17 in Atlanta. She was 31. According to a preliminary police report, the fatal shooting happened at the Metro Fun Center and was caused by a quarrel over a bowling ball. CBS 46 reports that Jackson attended her best friend’s birthday party when she got into a fight. Jackson’s mother said the suspect waited outside for 20 minutes and then shot her daughter in the parking lot. Police found Jackson dead at the scene as they responded to a report around 10:50 p.m.

“This is really a tomb,” APD Homicide Commander Lt Ralph Woolfolk told CBS 46. “A young lady lost her life over a bowling ball. We’re always talking about conflict resolution, and this is an escalating quarrel, so we’ll take this case. working through the night and we find the responsible person.We know who [you] so go ahead and give yourself in. ”Based on surveillance video of the incident, ballistic evidence, and eyewitness accounts, police said they believe they are after an arrest.

Jackson met Jeffery Lamar Williams before he gained fame as a Young Thug. The couple lived in the same apartment complex in Atlanta while they were in high school. Her son is 14 years old. On the night of the shooting, Young Thug was in Austin on the Billboard SXSW Concert Series.
