South Africans dominate at Steyn City

Shaun Norris opened up a four-shot lead after three rounds of the Steyn City Championship, which put him in first place for his first European Tour title.

Norris shot a 5-under 67 and moved to a 23-under par at Steyn City, where players took advantage of leagues due to heavy rain in the Johannesburg region before the tournament.

The South African’s closest challenger is compatriot Dean Burmester, who was down after a round of 66 19s.

Germany’s Matti Schmid (64) is one shot behind at 18 under and Denmark’s Joachim B. Hansen and Sweden’s Sebastian Soderberg are tied for fourth at 17 under, after both cards of 67.

These players lead the international contingent and are the best hopes to prevent a home win at the debut of the Steyn City Championship on the European Tour.

Jason Scrivener (70) is the best Australian duo to make the cut at seven under and a share of 51, while Maverick Antcliff (71) is a shot further behind in the group tied for 57.
