After being repulsed this winter due to a COVID-19 selection, the 2022 Junior Hockey Championship will take place in the month of August in Edmonton.

Recall that the tournament was held in the Alberta capital and in Red Deer last December. However, several formations have been subject to abandonment in case of COVID-19, forcing the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to repeal the tenure of the Championship this year.
Participating countries can appeal to the same players who were initially selected, and this, even if they are celebrating their 20th anniversary before the tournament.
In the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the IIHF announced last month that the countries of Vladimir Poutine and Belarus were banned from their upcoming events, including the Junior World Cup in August.
