Nathan Chen is currently the most talked about skater in the sport. He is not only the reigning Olympic champion, but certainly the best in the business. His performance for ‘Rocketman’ at the Beijing Winter Olympics was nothing short of a masterpiece, and the years of hard work finally paid off with an Olympic gold medal around his neck.

Although, after his incredible Olympic victory, the American skater delivered a shocking update of his withdrawal from the World Cup. Just a week before the World Cup, Nathan issued a statement saying: “I’m disappointed to retire from Worlds.” The reason for his withdrawal, he said, was one “Battle injury.”

Nathan Chen currently holds every world record there is
The reason why fans expect so much from Nathan Chen is because he has set his standards quite high. He currently holds all the world records in the category of skating men. His scores in the short program, figure skating, and combined are from the charts. The ‘Quad King’ has a top score of 113.97 points in the men’s short program he achieved during the Winter Olympics in Beijing.
In addition, he shot 224.92 points in the free skate and Grand Prix final 2019-2020 and he also holds the combined world record with a score of 335.30 points.

Nathan and Yuzuru are both from the World Cup
Before Nathan Chen’s retirement, Japanese figure skating legend Yuzuru Hanyu did the same because of his ankle injury. He was injured during the Winter Olympics in Beijing. Without Yuzuru, Nathan’s chances of winning his fourth consecutive world title were higher. However, he himself had to endure due to an injury from the championship.
Nathan is now replaced by Camden Pulkinen, while Miura Kao takes over Hanyu’s place in the world championship in figure skating. Anyway, on the bright side, with the two big ones out, the figure skates are now getting their new world champion. Who do you think will win the title in France?
