Holly Willoughby tearful student leaves UK ‘fight’ in Ukraine

TV presenter Holly Willoughby was in tears after talking to a courageous student who flew from the UK to Ukraine.

This Morning presenter, 41, spoke with the courageous 19-year-old Ukrainian political student Valentina Butenko in the last episode of her podcast.

Holly spoke to Valentina, who lived and studied in the UK until a few weeks ago until she decided to go to Ukraine to “stand with her people”.

During the seventh episode of Holly’s By The Light of the Moon podcast, Valentina shared that she decided to leave her mother in the UK and fly back to Kyiv after the war broke out.

Valentina told Holly: “The moment this war started, I think my future is very simple for me.

“My future is about defending my country and rebuilding my country.”

The 19-year-old added: “My identity and what is valuable to me is connected to these people in this country and everything I do, it needs to rebuild Ukraine and grow anew – because that’s where my identity lies. ass.

“I see no other way, or I want to see no other way.”

Throughout the podcast, Valentina revealed how the Russian invasion of Ukraine caused her to have no sleep and how she feared with all the loud noise that it would be a bomb.

The mother-of-three Holly could not help but form herself into Valentina’s shoes and asked her how it affected her family.

The presenter said, “I can not stop thinking of your poor mother. First, she must be so proud of you – what an incredible woman you are.

“But she just has to want you to come back to London where you are safe. Doesn’t your mother want you back and safe?”

Valentina replied: “You know, there can always be this conflict in these times of crisis between what you personally demand and what you want for those you love.

“Of course I miss my mom, of course she wants me to be safe.

“I miss my mother really deeply, but she is also a person who taught me strength and bravery.”

Brave Valentina ended their inspiring chat by shouting that the Ukrainian people could rebuild their country after the horrors of the invasion.
