Gymnastics Records highest Big Ten Championships score in program history

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Rutgers gymnastics team hosted a total of 195,750 people at the 2022 Big Ten Championships recorded Saturday afternoon at Ohio State. The team score marks the highest total posted at a Big Ten Championship for the Scarlet Knights, coming in as the ninth highest score in the program record books.

Junior Hannah Joyner was named to the All-Championship team, and is tied for seventh overall in the all-around with a score of 39,350. Joyner was sixth overall on beam (9,900) and seventh overall on the floor (9,900). Graduated Belle Huang also bound for seventh on the floor with an identical mark of 9,900.

In Session I of the Big Ten Championships, Hannah Joyner bound for the first time in the all-round of Session I with a 39,350. In addition, Joyner tied for third on trees and soil with identical marks of 9,900 in each event. She also finished fourth in the session at Vault with a 9,850.

Graduated Belle Huang bound for third on the floor with a 9,900 of their own, while second Emily Liese added 9,850 to Vault to connect the fourth in the session.

The Rutgers earned a victory over Penn State in Session I of the Conference Championship with the highest team score the Scarlet Knights posted on Big Ten’s. This year, the mark of 195,750 is the previous high of 195,675 at last year’s championship.

Rutgers program record Big Ten score also marks a top 10 program overall. The mark of 195,750 volumes for the ninth best overall and sixth highest road result of the Scarlet Knights. The team stack score of 49,200 ranks fifth in the record books, while the team vault score of 49,125 places fifth as well.
