Montreal animal rescuers are on a mission to rescue a fox stranded on ice in the city’s old harbor.
Swimming across the water at King Edward Quay, the fox proved to be a hard catch, with the Rescue Animal Rescue (SAR) setting up its second rescue operation on Friday afternoon.
The mission is still going on like a Friday night, according to the organization. A spokesman told CTV News that a trap has been set and is under constant surveillance.
On its Facebook page, the SAR urged the public not to interfere with their efforts and to stay calm in the area so as not to scare the animal.
The rescue squad said it would take more “offensive” action Saturday night if the trap did not work.
