A Plus Tard, the horse that provided jockey Rachael Blackmore with a historic Cheltenham Gold Cup win, has been retired.
Blackmore became the first female rider to win the race when the pair triumphed in 2022 for trainer Henry de Bromhead.
A Plus Tard beat Minella Indo by 15 lengths, a year after finishing second to his stablemate.
“You can never dream too big – this is something I never thought would be possible,” said Blackmore at the time.
That proved to be A Plus Tard’s final victory, with four subsequent defeats including his last outing in the Savills Chase in December.
A Plus Tard, owned by Cheveley Park Stud, had won the Leopardstown race a year earlier.
Other significant victories included a 22-length triumph in the 2021 Betfair Chase at Haydock.
