Barcelona will meet next week with Sergi Roberto agent, as will Mundo Deportivo.
The Catalan midfielder has spent his entire career in Barcelona, but it seems that their professional relationship will come to an end when the season ends.
According to Gabriel Sans, there has been no contact between the club and Roberto over a new contract for months – his current deal expires in June.
This year was probably his worst since he made the leap to the first team under Tata Martino in the 2013-14 season. Roberto, who only managed twelve appearances at the start of the season, has been suffering from a hamstring problem since October and has had to undergo surgery.
According to goal, rivals Atletico Madrid are keeping an eye on the situation and may be willing to offer him a contract. Sergi Roberto’s priority is to stay in Catalonia, but if nothing happens, Atletico Madrid would allow him to stay at a high level in the country.
