DRUMMONVILLE, Que. – Mathieu Cataford scored twice in the second period and the Halifax Mooseheads beat their five game losers with a convincing 8-3 victory over the Drummondville Voltigeurs in the QMJHL Sunday.
Jordan Dumais had a goal in three assists, and Zachary L’Heureux had a goal in two assists for the Mooseheads (26-23-1-1). Stephen Davis, Zack Jones, Elliot Desnoyers and Attilio Biasca shot the others for Halifax.
Mathis Rousseau stopped 27 pucks for the win.
Luke Woodworth, Jeremy Lapointe and Alexis Morin scored for the Volunteers (20-18-6-5), who are in non-profit three. Jacob Goobie (16 saves) and Riley Mercer (12 saves) shared the goalkeeper tasks.
It was Halifax’s first victory since March 8.
