Emmerdale: Mark Charnock has crew covered mirrors for hit scene

Mark Charnock asked the Emmerdale crew to cover the clothing mirrors to help his performance during some heartbreaking scenes.

The soap star’s character Marlon is set to suffer a massive blow in the upcoming scenes, and while the brand usually does not act as a “method”, he decided to take a few extra steps to give the audience a genuine reaction when his age Ego’s face looks for the first time.

Opening about the prosthetic makeup he wore on set, he said Monday morning: “I’m not a method actor at all, but I asked them to cover all the mirrors and makeup if they set it up.

“I wish if we shot it – what viewers saw tonight is when I saw it, the first time I saw it. It had an impact on me. The reaction that viewers have today Tonight, is that right, you know? ‘

In the following scenes, Marlon becomes dramatically ill shortly after he and Rhona (Zoë Henry) propose to each other, as their moment becomes of pure joy and absolute heartbeat.

However, everyone is hired to rally Mark’s character to help him, while the storyline will discover how this can affect more than the person who suffered a stroke.

“Overnight it is not just with victims of stroke, it is the people around them who become the operators,” he explained. “Suddenly, their roles in life change completely … There is a real communal response to it.”

Meanwhile, Mark – who has worked extensively with the Emmerdale team on the Stroke Association to research the storyline – admitted that there will be moments of “light”.

‘It’s not like people lose their sense of humor. It’s a very human story, there’s a lot of love and light in it, “he added. ‘Light is where hope for the future and recovery lies.’

Back in October, he hit 25 years at Emmerdale and even though he was unaware of the milestone, he can still remember finding out that he had landed what would become a career-defining role.

He recalled: ‘I got the job on my birthday, three months contract. I was just jumping around, best birthday present ever. ‘

“I don’t think they realize I’m still there,” he cried.
