Spending in every day fantasy lineup is how you get the superstars and the highest upside players in your lineup.
In NHL DFS, it’s different than spending time in sports like NBA or NFL. Something could be one of the highest paid players in his position and show a total dud of a performance, and paying so much for him would be a big mistake. Let us make sure we spend the right amount of pay when setting up our lineups tonight.
Monday night delivers four games on the schedule. Here are some pieces.
Nazem Kadri, Center, Colorado Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche striker is in a good spot at home against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night.
His struggles of late are well documented. The good news is that Nazem Kadri’s salary has dropped enough to make it much easier to feel good about joining him. He played 10 straight games without scoring a goal. That changed against San Jose over the weekend.
Shots were missed a bit for Kadri later, but he had three blocked shots in his last three games, which contributed to his ground. Kadri still sees enough power play time, and there is a chance he will face the Oilers the worst defensive pair in this.
The Avs average more than four goals per game at home, and Kadri can have a big game at that point.
Kirill Kaprizov, Wing, Minnesota Wild

Kirill Kaprizov’s game against Vegas is one of the best on Monday night.
Minnesota has an excellent chance to score more than three goals. They are expected to vote 3.47, per our model
Vegas played a little better later, but they are still fighting defensively at times. It is the goalkeeper of Logan Thompson and Laurent Brossoit that has improved a bit.
Kaprizov had at least three shots on goal and created at least four goal chances in eight straight games. Vegas should have a very hard time trying to keep up with its speed.
Roman Josi, Defenseman, Nashville Predators
FanDuel Pay: $ 8,200
The hottest defender in the NHL is Roman Josi, and it’s not close.
Josi has scored three goals and 13 assists in his last seven games. In five of those competitions, he had four or more shots on goal. In four of those games, he also had some blocked shots.
The defender had a great matchup against the Anaheim Ducks. Anaheim may not even know its starting goaltender until later today due to the NHL trade deadline.
The Predators could easily score a handful of goals against a real Ducks squad, and Josi had a good chance to roll on.
