Wales smacking ban: What do parents think?

A ban on hitting children in Wales is a “great move” and the “right thing to do,” according to parents in Cardiff.

Anyone who hits a child in their care could be arrested and charged with assault after the legal defense of reasonable punishment has been overturned.

It makes Wales the second British nation, after Scotland, to make munching illegal.

But Simon Calvert of campaign group Be Reasonable said it was “to criminalize parents for not doing more than most of our parents have done to us”.
