Playlists to listen to Before Season 4

If you have not watched the hugely popular show from Netflix Stranger stuff, seriously do it. It’s awesome. If you have, you know that music totally makes the show. For those of you waiting patiently for season 4 of Stranger stuff to hit screen, you may find that listening to series soundtracks can be time consuming.

For that reason, we have a guide to the music of Stranger stuff about seasons 1, 2 and 3 and where you can listen to it all.

Stranger Things Soundtrack

When it comes to the real 80s songs used in the show, Stranger stuff Lifts from popular sources such as Jefferson Airplane, The Clash and Foreigner. The playlist below, created by Netflix itself, even starts with the now heartfelt “Should I Stay or Should I Go”. Thank you, Netflix, for making this hilarious song now tragically emotional for me.

In addition, there is also the compilation album Stranger Things – East (Music from the Netflix Original Series) which you can buy on vinyl if you want. It mixes dialogue tracks with tunes like ‘Africa’ by Toto and ‘Time After Time’ by Cyndi Lauper.

Stranger Things Season 1

Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of Austin based synth band Survive have released the official soundtrack for season 1 of Stranger stuff which was composed of tracks from the series, including the theme song. This album, Stranger stuffwas released in 2016 in two parts (Vol.1 and Vol. 2).

Notable tracks include ‘Kids’, ‘Hawkins’, and Eleven’s theme ‘Eleven’.

According to reports, the release of this first album came about due to an “overwhelming amount of fan requests”. Finally, Netflix decided to go ahead with a digital release, followed by a physical CD and vinyl version of the soundtrack for the popular show.

Stranger Things Season 2

Stranger Things 2 2017 followed by another soundtrack by Dixon and Stein. This one was of course composed for our return to Hawkins in season 2 of the series and Rolling Stone called this soundtrack “majestic”.

Stranger Things Season 3

In 2019, Dixon and Stein are back for more Stranger Things 3the official soundtrack for the third season of the show.

In a statement on the soundtrack release, quoted by NME, they stated that:

With the Season 3 soundtrack, we have created an album that does not necessarily feel like a ‘score’, but one that feels more like a stand-alone record than a collection of short cues. remained true to the original sound and at the same time expanded our musical range – we often pushed it to the limit.

“We really made an effort to curate this album to show the moments that we think are really special.”
