Sean Bean’s time has been confirmed for season 2

The BBC has confirmed that Sean Bean and Stephen Graham are involved in the prison drama Time is back for a second series – but there’s a big twist.

Even though the series will be back, it has been revealed that neither main actor will return to the show for his new episodes, with the BBC announcing that the next second series “will welcome a new cast and put them in a very female prison.”

One person who will return to the show, however, is writer Jimmy McGovern. McGovern has previously written dramas among them Anthony in the Careand will write three new one-hour episodes of Time for his second series.

Also revealed to be returning for a second series, Jamie Dornan was leading Mystery Drama The TouristMartin Freeman’s flashy police drama The Responder and Suranne Jones-Starring U-Boot-Set Series Vigil.

The commission was announced by BBC Chief Content Officer Charlotte Moore, who said: “The BBC is creative and brand and the return of four of our biggest dramas in the last year shows the large scale and range of storytelling the BBC. “

Season one of Time food played Game of Thrones in the Lord of the Rings Actor Bean as former schoolteacher and first-time perpetrator Mark Cobden, whose horrible mistake landed him in jail.
