The ongoing bond opportunities are extremely volatile. Ever since Daniel Craig resigned from James Bond (following the extraordinary No Time To Die), fans have been waiting anxiously for news of who will take over.
The official announcement of the next Bond actor is likely to come next year, but until then, the race and Bond chance is for a number of budding actors. Earlier this week, Henry Cavill was the favorite for the role – but things changed very quickly.
Cavill recently had a 5/2 chance to become the next Bond – which would have been a big point of pride for the Superman actor. He had previously auditioned for 007 back in 2005, but was turned down in favor of Craig.
What’s more, The Witcher actor got told he was “too fat” to be James Bond, so he sure wants to prove his critics wrong, that’s for sure.
Now Ladbrokes Cavill has a new 6/1 chance to become Bond – much worse than before.
This places him next to Tom Hardy, who was a strong favorite in the changing odds last year.
Hardy is best known for playing the holder of Antiheld and Venom, as well as Bane in the Christopher Nolan Batman movies, and of course Solomons and Peaky Blinders.
But both Hardy and Cavill were pushed aside by a surprising newcomer to the race: Aidan Turner.
The Irish actor is best known for playing Poldark in the BBC series. He also played the dwarf Kili in the Lord of the Rings prequel trilogy The Hobbit.
The 38-year-old Turner has now been given a 6/1 chance by Ladbrokes, putting him head-to-head with Cavill and Hardy.
This is especially amazing when one considers how much of an outsider he was just 24 hours ago.

Once again, Regé-Jean Page took over the top of the Bond chances.
The bookie gave the British star a whopping 7/2 chance to claim the role of international spy next. This would be monumental for Page, as he is relatively new to the industry, and gained much of his fame after the release of his Netflix show.
He will next star in the next Dungeons & Dragons movie, but other than that he is free to take on a new project. Could he be the next investment for Bond boss siblings Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson?
Page itself does not mean that. He was interviewed last year about his chances of improving Bond – but he saw it as a form of blacksmithing rather than a real possibility. He said of the Bond rumors: “If you’re British and you’re doing something out of reputation, people take it up and start saying the B-word. I think that’s pretty normal.” Finally, he added: “It’s more of a procedural thing and I’m tasted to be in the category of Britons that people have noticed, but there’s nothing more or less than that.”
James Bond No Time To Die is now out on Digital, DVD and Blu-Ray.
